Autism Evaluations

If you’ve been wondering whether you or your child may be on the autism spectrum, you’re not alone. Many individuals seek answers later in life or after years of feeling “different” without a clear explanation. At Precision Counseling, we offer autism-focused clinical evaluations designed to provide clarity, understanding, and practical next steps in a supportive and respectful environment.
These evaluations explore patterns in thinking, communication, and behavior, offering insights that can guide treatment and daily support. When appropriate, we collaborate with other professionals—such as psychologists or medical providers—or provide referrals for further diagnostic clarification or documentation needs.
Please note that these evaluations are clinical in nature and may not replace a full diagnostic assessment required by certain institutions, such as schools or insurance providers. When necessary, we provide guidance on next steps to ensure you or your child access the support and resources needed.

Autism-Focused Evaluations Offered at Precision Counseling

ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition)
  • A gold-standard observational assessment that evaluates social communication, play, and restricted or repetitive behaviors. ADOS-2 provides structured opportunities to observe behaviors associated with Autism in a standardized setting.
CARS-2 (Childhood Autism Rating Scale, Second Edition)
  • An observation-based rating scale designed to assess behaviors commonly associated with Autism. It helps identify the severity of symptoms and can be used for children and adolescents.
ESB (Early Social-Communication Scales)
  • Focuses on early social communication skills, including joint attention and gesture use. ESB is particularly useful for evaluating younger children and understanding foundational social-communication development.
MIGDAS-2 (Monteiro Interview Guidelines for Diagnosing Autism, Second Edition)
  • A qualitative, interview-based assessment that explores sensory experiences, social interactions, and communication. MIGDAS-2 provides insights into each individual’s unique neurodevelopmental profile.
SRS-2 (Social Responsiveness Scale, Second Edition)
  • A standardized questionnaire completed by parents, teachers, or individuals themselves to measure social impairment associated with Autism. SRS-2 helps identify strengths and challenges in social communication and interaction.
ADI-R (Autism Diagnostic Interview–Revised)
  • A structured caregiver interview that gathers detailed developmental history and current behaviors. ADI-R is often used alongside observational measures to support diagnostic clarity and treatment planning.
GARS-3 (Gilliam Autism Rating Scale, Third Edition)
  • A standardized rating scale used to help identify Autism in children and adolescents. GARS-3 evaluates social interaction, communication, and repetitive behaviors, supporting both screening and treatment planning.
